There's a report in today's Observer about the development of London. Not really surprising, but worse than we'd feared. Large areas of London being sold off to the very richest clients, with Boris John the eager salesman in chief, gladhanding the rich and providing pressure to kick out the poor.
Many of the rich, as it happens, are Russian. Some of them with large amounts of illegal cash which they're keen to launder, and buying top-end property in London is a great way to do it. Are we asking questions, checking up or exercising any kind of restraint at all? Of course we're not. We're grovelling with gratitude, which is one more reason why we shan't be making any serious response to the serious amount of evidence which suggests that Litvinenko was murdered by the Russian state in London. It's business as usual.
