The unthinkable has happened. The special one is not quite so special any more, and has - being a Chelsea manager - got the sack. The speed with which Chelsea have disintegrated is mind-boggling, and it really does seem as though Mourinho is a short-term wizard, brilliant at the tactical fix, and developing an instant rapport amongst his players, but then liable to make that go sour, through failing to retain their support. Key players like Fabregas and Costa, so crucial to last year's success, seem to have become scapegoats for the fans. Whoever's at fault, it's not a clever way to run an organisation, and as the mystique crumbles it's almost pleasant to realise that somebody that arrogant and egotistical doesn't actually have all the answers.
