The US witchhunt of Bradley Manning continues. Sure, he’s a mixed-up kid who’s acted naively, but it’s still overkill. He’s prepared to plead guilty to 10 charges which would give him twenty years in prison, but they won’t settle for that. He’s got to be found guilty of espionage and “aiding the enemy”. Someone in bin Laden’s camp downloaded some of the cables Manning released, so that makes him an accomplice to treason. But they could do the same with a leader from The Times.
