Today Bridgnorth Writers’ Group held a workshop. In a large church hall the Northumbrian poet Katrina Porteous took us through a busy sequence of reading and talking about poems and pieces of prose. All the way through she scattered perceptive comments and stimulating questions, while simultaneously leaving a trail of assignments – writing jobs we might come back to, at a later stage. More than twenty members gave up their Saturday morning, to remind themselves how important writing is, and how much fun it can be when you’re really made to think. Thank you, Katrina.
