Well, not sale, so much as auction. David Cameron and Boris Johnson are committed to playing a tennis match with some Russian millionaire, because he contributed £160,000 to Tory party funds. In the old days, as soon as news of this got out, the PM would deny it, or assert that there’s been a misunderstanding, repay the money and hope that the whole thing would go away. Not any more. We are now totally shameless. Cameron took the money and has no intention of giving it back. Above the board legal fund-raising, exploiting his celebrity. What could possibly be wrong with that? Even Boris has the sense to be slightly embarrassed, bot not our Dave. Of such stuff, apparently, leaders are made.
