Beverley Clarke's 19 year old son was killed in a friendly fire incident, way back in 2003. With legal aid, she's brought a case against the Ministry of Defence, which they agree is an important one which could set a precedent for others. So far, so rational.
but welfare regulations means that she now has to take a low paid job, and when she does that she loses her legal aid. no case, no precedent. Just brilliant.
There was a time when Conservatives stood for justice and freedom for the individual. Not any more. Now it's just penny-pinching, and punishing the poor.
